Contact February 13th, 2004 For Immediate Release New Century Stripteaseuses Present Spring Roll Revue (MONTREAL, QC): Blowing a warm front into the chilling Montreal scene, radical revue will melt some Canadian ice with a second punk-a-go-go cabaret. The Coral Lees are a cabaret troupe inspired by the fabulous performers of yesteryear, incorporating pop and punk influences for a post modern take on classic burlesque. Local XXX Internet stars, and founders of the troupe, Seska and Elsa Lee, have been reinventing a whole new formula for the tamed local scene. The first Coral Lees event, which took place at this past October, was a success and they are set to continue creating bump and grind for a new generation. "The Spring Roll Revue is truly a variety show. This time we have included even more influences from our experiences in porn and are making an even bigger statement while still being the true goofs that we are", says Coral Lees co-founder Elsa Lee. Lucille Ball, American Psycho, Audrey Hepburn, and South Park inspire this season's show. With acts making statements about sex work, stereotyping, the difference between fantasy and reality, and losing one's soul in the consumer age, the Coral Lees are tackling some of life's sticky issues with bizarre humour and a whole lot of style. Special guests include the shockingly gracious Cicatrix, who will once again be exposing her scars on stage to burn and please your eyes with another warm presentation, Virgin, who will be showing off those long gams, preparing you once more for an uncommon Drag Queen performance, and Chastity, a vixen reminiscent of the Bettie Page days with a twist of retro lace and gory latex. Premature Lee and Random Lee will
have hosting duties, bringing back to the Coral Lees stage their
famed skit: Punch Line and blending a little testosterone into the
girly tasselled night! Inspired by the classics, recycled by geeks. The Coral Lees bring some sexual pastiche to the Montreal scene with their smutty and sassy cabaret stylings.
